Measure your kit before choosing a store
Use centimetres. Measure each item in its intended storage position, including handles and attachments. For an upright rake, its length is its height. For a bike or mower, include the handlebars.
How the estimate works
Footprint = width × depth × quantity for each item, added together. Nothing is stacked or hung on a wall. The tool places items in rows, deepest first, without rotating them, then adds your chosen access strip across the front. It compares that layout with the clear internal dimensions you enter.
A layout that exceeds the space might still work with a different arrangement. A layout within the space still needs a physical check: door width, turning room, roof slopes, shelving and the route to the garden can prevent an item fitting. The front strip is not a guarantee that you can reach items at the back. The longest dimension is a measuring reminder, not a promise that an item fits diagonally.
Worked example
A mower measuring 60 × 120 × 100 cm and two upright tools each 30 × 30 × 160 cm occupy 0.90 m² on the floor. In a store 180 cm wide, the row layout needs 180 cm depth including a 60 cm front strip, and at least 160 cm usable height. These are illustrative measurements, not product specifications.

Nominal size and volume in litres do not show whether your mower can pass through the door. Internal height may be the highest point; check the lowest part of the roof over each item. Product dimensions do not include the clearances needed around the store for installation, opening lids or maintenance.
